Hit and Run

Definition

A situation in poker when a player who has sat down at a cash table leaves it right after winning a big pot. The poker community considers this behavior a breach of etiquette, but poker rooms do not prohibit it. Hit and run is usually practiced by players using a short-stack strategy: they sit down with the minimum possible stack and leave the table once they have doubled it.
