Definition
The probability that an opponent folds in response to a bet or raise. Fold equity is one of the most important factors an aggressive player must consider before bluffing or semi-bluffing. The higher a player’s fold equity, the more likely they are to give up to a bet without a strong hand, and vice versa – players with low fold equity will often call and raise, so bluffing against them is ineffective.
