Definition
A stage of the game in which the players in the hand take turns making one of the following actions: fold, call, check, bet or raise. A betting round ends when all players have put equal amounts into the pot (except in the case of an all-in), or when only one player remains in the hand, who then wins the pot. Hold’em has 4 betting rounds – preflop, flop, turn and river – but the winner can be decided in any of them.
