A poker player’s action meant to show that their hand is stronger and to make opponents fold, while actually holding a weaker hand. Bluffing is an essential part of optimal strategy in any poker game. A necessary condition for a profitable bluff is that the opponents’ fold equity must be higher than the pot odds.
