A hand with one card of the same rank as one of the opponent’s cards and a second card lower than the opponent’s corresponding hole card. Because the player with the dominated hand has the lower kicker, he will often lose the hand. For example, Hero holds A8o and his opponent entered the pot with ATo. So Hero’s A8o is a dominated hand.
