A pot made up of the blinds and/or money from weak players that nobody is contesting. In other words, it is a pot that can easily be won through aggression alone, regardless of hand strength. For example, for a player on the button, the blinds posted by weak opponents, with no other bets in front of him, are dead money that he can take simply by raising. The second meaning of the term refers to players who have minimal chances of winning the current hand or the whole game.
