Definition
A player’s seat at the poker table relative to the dealer button. Since the button and the blinds move one player clockwise every hand, positions change as well. All positions at the table are divided into four groups: early, middle, late and the blinds. The closer a player is to the blinds, the less favorable his position, and the closer to the button (ideally on the button), the better his position.
