Definition
A poker action in which a player puts all of their chips at stake. The term is usually used in tournaments rather than cash games and refers to an all-in bet by a short-stacked player. By pushing, a player reduces the number of potential opponents or knocks everyone out of the hand altogether. When you push, you increase your fold equity against your opponents, which makes bluffing more effective.
