Pot-Limit

Definition

A betting structure in poker in which the maximum bet or raise cannot exceed the size of the pot. For example, if the pot is $50, a player cannot bet more than $50. Compared with limit poker, where the bet size is tied to the big blind, this format is less restrictive. However, compared with no-limit games, where the maximum bet is limited only by the player’s stack, pot-limit poker is more restrictive.
