Definition
The common money on the poker table, made up of the individual bets of each player. The pot is taken by the winner of the hand. If two or more players have identical hands at showdown, the pot is split between them equally. In no-limit poker the bet size usually depends on the pot, for example a half-pot bet or a 2/3-pot bet.
