Middle Position

Definition

The seats at a poker table between the early and late positions. Middle position is abbreviated “MP”. At a full table (9-max), middle position is occupied by the three players to the right of the cutoff. At a short-handed table, middle position is held by just one player, who sits between the cutoff and UTG. Playing from MP is more profitable than from early positions, but less profitable than from late positions.
