A drawing hand that, with one needed card on the turn or river, can improve to both a straight and a flush at the same time. A monster draw has 15 outs to improve, making it the strongest draw in Hold’em. For example, Hero is dealt Qs Jd preflop and the flop comes Ks Ts 3s. As a result, Hero has a flush draw – Qs Ks Ts 3s – with 9 outs and a straight draw – Ts Jd Qs Ks – with 6 more outs, for a total of 15 outs to improve to either of these hands. Thus a third of the remaining deck contains the needed outs, which gives high chances of improving on the turn and river.
