One of the possible actions during a betting round, meaning passing the turn: the player stays in the hand but puts no chips into the pot. A check is only possible if there have been no bets earlier in the current betting round. To check means not to bet on your turn and to pass the action to the next player. For example, after everyone folds, the small blind completes, and the big blind, if they don’t raise, checks.
