Definition
A call by a player who hasn’t yet put any money into the pot in the current betting round, when there has already been a bet and a raise from different opponents before him. For example, Player 1 bets, Player 2 raises, Player 3 folds and Player 4 calls. In this case Player 4 is considered to have made a cold call. Preflop, calling the very first raise counts as a cold call, because the big blind’s forced bet is treated as a bet.
