Coin Flip

Definition

A situation in a poker hand where two players with roughly equal chances of winning go all-in. “Coin flip” literally means tossing a coin, where heads and tails have equal chances. Likewise in poker, if two players hold hands of roughly equal strength, deciding the winner of the hand can be compared to a coin toss: the chances are 50/50. An example of a coin flip is a pocket pair all-in against two overcards. The chances of 55 winning against AKo are 54%.
