Connectors

Definition

Two hole cards of consecutive ranks. For example, if a player is dealt 67 preflop, he holds connectors. Connectors have an advantage over unsuited non-consecutive cards, because they have a better chance of turning into a straight postflop. The probability of being dealt connectors in Hold’em is 15.7%. Connectors can be suited or offsuit. Suited connectors are more valuable, as they add chances of making a flush. The probability of being dealt consecutive cards of the same suit preflop is 3.9%.
