Definition
A card attribute that shows its value. In card notation the rank is written as the first character and the suit as the second. For example, 7d is a card of rank 7 in the suit of diamonds. In popular poker variants (Hold’em, Omaha) card ranks start at 2 (the lowest) and end at A (the highest). When making combinations such as a straight or a straight flush, the ace can play as the lowest card: A 2 3 4 5.
