A special tournament in which the winners receive not cash prizes but tickets to more expensive tournaments. Playing satellites lets you qualify for prestigious tournaments with big prize pools for a small buy-in. Satellites can have a multi-step structure: after paying the minimum price for a ticket to the first step, you have to finish in the prize places in each subsequent tournament to qualify for the main event.
