Definition
The final stage of a poker hand, which comes after all river bets have been made and at least two players remain. At this stage the players show their hole cards in turn, and the winner is determined by comparing hand strength. The first to show at showdown is the player who was the aggressor in the last betting round; if everyone checked on the river, the small blind or the nearest player to its left shows first.
