Definition
A situation in poker in which the whole pot is divided equally among several players in the hand who have made hands of identical strength. For example, Player 1 holds 5h 9d, Player 2 holds 3d 9h, and the board is Ks Qc Ts 9c Ad. Both players have a pair of nines, and because the board cards are higher than their second hole card, their kickers are the same. Therefore these players have hands of identical strength, and the pot is split equally between them.
