Small Blind

Definition

A forced bet in poker posted by the player sitting to the left of the dealer position. The next player clockwise posts the second forced bet – the big blind, which is usually twice the size of the small blind. The purpose of the blinds is to build a starting pot so that players get involved in the hand more actively.
